Càtedra Jean Monnet: Law and external relations of the EU

2008-2013

Who we are

In 2008, the European Commission, within the framework of Action Jean Monnet, awarded Professor Antoni Blanc Altemir the Chair: Law and External Relations of the EU. The Jean Monnet Chair is an academic accreditation awarded to professors who have distinguished themselves for teaching and research in European subjects. The holder of the Chair is, therefore, a professor specializing in European issues.

The Chair has allowed the project team to carry out extensive teaching activities (seminars, conferences, round tables, etc.) and research (monographs, collective books and articles) on European issues. The high performance of the Chair can be seen in the important participation of external professors in different initiatives that have led to the enrichment and establishment of a network of national and international collaborators. The proposed activities have been configured assuming the responsibility of communicating Europe not only to the students of the UdL but also to the citizens of Lleida. Finally, the close collaboration with Europe Direct, an information point about the EU, has achieved synergy in the efforts to organize and promote different initiatives.
